The Hethel factory is celebrating its golden jubilee, so Lotus has decided it’s the right time to come out with a special edition Evora 400 to mark the milestone.
Dubbed “Hethel Edition,” the limited-run Evora 400 will be available in three exclusive heritage colors: Essex Blue, Motorsport Black, and Racing Green. Depending on the one you go for, each exterior shade will be matched on the inside with a black/red leather or Alcantara. All of the cars are getting a special commemorative build plate and body graphics to remind you it’s not an ordinary Evora 400. Rounding off the changes are the silver forged aluminum wheels that come with contrasting brake calipers.
You can get it with either a manual or automatic transmission which will both be in charge of delivering 400 horsepower (298 kilowatts) and 302 pound-feet (410 newton meters) of torque to the road. Regardless of the selected gearbox, the Evora 400 Heritage Edition, like the regular model, sprints to 62 mph (100 kph) in 4.2 seconds. However, the manual version has a higher top speed of 186 mph (300 kph) compared to the automatic model which maxes out at 174 mph (280 kph).
As far as pricing is concerned, Lotus is asking £75,500 in U.K., €100,500 in Germany, €101,350 in France, and €105,400 in Italy.
The Evora 400 Hethel Edition is just the first of many special products that will be launched in the near future to celebrate 50 years since founder Colin Chapman set up shop in Hethel, Norfolk.
Meanwhile, Lotus is preparing an entry-level Evora for the United States which is expected to be powered by a naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with an estimated 276 hp (205 kW).
